A work that approaches a poem rather than a story
But there is a story… Wild, perhaps a 'soul’/spirit, sets out in search of her past. Alone, leaving Korea she wandered foreign countries discovering new horizons of perspective and perception.
She cries out with all her strength to release the lingering wounds of the old past that threaten her with bitter pain.
In early autumn, returning to Seoul, a place she calls home, she faces the past and the present. What did Korea mean then? What does it mean now?
The round harvest moon beckons before winter dreams.
Tread lightly, this journey will not cease ...
Version #2
at the St. Muse Festival
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia
2023
Version #2 was created specifically for Saint Muse 17th International Theatre Festival in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. The theme being “Nomadic Culture in the World Culture”. Ye-lin Kim replaced Myung-sup Shim who was unable to participate. Ye-lin bought a fresh perspective to the work as AeRan Jeong continued to develop her premise of her return to Korea. It seemed fitting to have been invited to a Festival having a Nomad theme.
Version #2 was also presented mid-October at the Face Museum in G. It turned out to be a most wonderful experience. The audience watched with such attention that the silence was deafening.
