By investigating aspects of the actor's craft, which Jerzy Grotowski believed and researched as the core of theatre, this workshop will initiate a deeper understanding of "poor theatre" from the actor's body to the story.
Six three hour sessions will explore the working practice of "via negativa" - eradication of blocks, "conjunctio-oppositorum"- complementary pair of opposites and "total act".
----
Sessions:
I. ”via negativa”
Day 1 - body, space, shape, rhythm & movement
Day 2 - breath, vibration, sound & voice
- work systematically to build physical strength, stamina, and flexibility, while learning to pinpoint and nurture those aspects of the work that stem from creative consciousness
II. ”conjunctio-oppositorum"
Day 3 - principle of no character from archetype to individual
Day 4 - scenic equivalents - creating an etude
- basic dialectic between rigour and spontaneous impulses to free the way toward imaginative experimentation while at the same time, demanding the most precise structure possible
III. ”total act"
Day 5 - the rehearsal process - improvisation
Day 6 -actors score
- let fall the mask of daily life, penetrate experiences, strip bare towards a total security, connecting to the “roots” of the play action and perceive to reveal and expose a deeper, more intimate and human layer

This workshop invites a dynamic and constant flowing between awareness and reassessment of the actor's (re)constructed performance practice as a way to stimulate a vitality of adventure and meeting.
